Florida Deployment

Florida Deployment: Over the weekend, GA TERT received a request from Florida TERT via EMAC for a team of Public Safety Telecommunicators to assist the Collier County (FL) Sheriff’s Office in Naples, Florida due to workload from Hurricane Irma. This afternoon around 4:00 p.m., a team of 6 Georgia TERT members met at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center for an initial briefing before beginning their journey to Florida. On Monday, the Georgia team will begin relieving the Florida team that has been in place for several days. The group will also be joined by a team from TN TERT later on Monday.

The team consists of:

  • Team Leader Tamika Kendrick (Emory University Police Department)
  • Amanda Maddox (Henry County E-911)
  • Mandy Ptak (Baldwin County E-911)
  • Tabatha Carver (Fulton County Emergency Services / E-911)
  • Chrissy Medeiros (Floyd County E-911)
  • Aaron Schwab (Cherokee County E-911)

Please keep our team members in your thoughts and prayers as they travel to assist our 911 family in Florida. They are selflessly leaving the comforts of home away from their family to do very hard work.

We will post updates from the team as we get them.
